"Chewing Gum and Paper Clips: Marketing for Non-Marketing Units with Limited Resources"

Description: Professional, adult and continuing education (PACE) units have been experiencing a major shift. Not long ago we could count on our local presence and word-of-mouth to attract new learners. We could easily identify our competitors. Yet, much as changed. Newer, bigger competitors are penetrating our markets with high end advertising, compelling value propositions, and sophisticated tools. Many of us still operate under existing models of connected but set apart – units with the entrepreneurial spirit for which we’re known but unsure how to leverage our limited resources and existing expertise. 

If you’re in the envious position of having a full scale marketing, recruiting, and admissions team, then this session is likely not for you. For the rest of you – the MacGyvers tasked to wear many hats, do more with less, and make magic with chewing gum and paper clips – this session may be of interest. Participants will take away actional ideas that can be implemented by harnessing the creativity for which we are known.
