Presenters: Dr. Abbey Ivey and Dr. Larry Locke

Dr. Abbey Ivey is the Vice President of Postsecondary Strategy at Student-Ready Strategies, bringing extensive experience in higher education at both state and institutional levels. Previously, she served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Articulation at the Division of Florida Colleges, where she focused on student progression and transfer within Florida’s K-20 system. She also led the Florida Student Success Center, implementing initiatives for guided pathways, mathematics reform, and equitable access. Abbey has also worked at Miami Dade College as Director of Articulation and Academic Pathways and held the position of Director of Academic Affairs at the Division of Florida Colleges. She holds degrees from Florida State University, and the University of Florida.

Dr. Larry Locke joined Student-Ready Strategies as Director of Postsecondary Strategy after 10 years of direct service to students across various institutions in multiple states. Inspired by his students, he pursued a Ph.D. in Higher Education, focusing on student access and success. Larry has expertise in assessment, leadership, program management, and research. He began his career at Michigan State, implementing a comprehensive sexual assault prevention program. Larry has led numerous student affairs areas, co-managed successful programs, and served as Publication Coordinator for the Journal of College Student Development. He holds degrees from The Evergreen State College, Michigan State University, and Indiana University.
