Institutional Membership - apply now

OPEN TO: REGIONALLY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING

An institutional membership is open to institutions of higher learning that have programming or administrative units responsible for adult continuing, professional, or distance education activities. The institution must hold current regional accreditation or the international counterpart. Other criteria for membership include:

  • having significant adult continuing and/or professional education and/or distance learning offerings, either credit or non-credit
  • having students pursuing advanced degrees relating to adult and continuing education, professional education, distance education, and/or literacy
  • placing strong emphasis on meeting the educational needs of students pursuing academic coursework, certificates, and degrees and the lifelong learning needs of their communities

2014 Institutional Membership Dues

Dues Tiers are based on an institution's student credit FTE (full time enrollment). We also have a Large Staff Membership for CE unit administrators wishing to list up to 30 staff from their institution. All tier levels may have additional members added beyond their tier limits for $30 each.

Tier 1 Less that 3,000 FTE $550 for seven (7) staff listings
Tier 2 3,001-6,000 FTE $585 for seven (7) staff listings
Tier 3 6,001-15,000 FTE $620 for eight (8) staff listings
Tier 4 15,001-30,000 FTE $655 for eight (8) staff listings
Tier 5 Greater than 30,000 FTE $690 for nine (9) staff listings
Tier 6 Large Staff Membership $1000 for thirty (30) staff listings
Additional members
$30 each

  • Constitution and Bylaws: One of the institution's members, usually the institutional representative, is designated to cast the institution's vote on matters of the Constitution and Bylaws.
  • Elections: All institutional members can vote in annual national or regional elections.

Leadership

All institutional members are eligible to hold regional and national office.

Publications

All institutional members will receive ACHE publications.

Organizational Membership - apply now

OPEN TO: ASSOCIATIONS, BUSINESSES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

An organizational membership is open to non-higher education associations, organizations, and government agencies that have a major commitment to and affiliation with adult continuing, professional, or distance education.

  • 2014 Organizational Membership - $550 for four (4) staff listings
  • Each additional member is $30 each

An Organizational Membership includes four (4) organizational member listings. Additional members may be added for $30 each per year.

Voting

Professional Membership - apply now

OPEN TO: INDIVIDUALS WHO WORK IN ADULT CONTINUING, PROFESSIONAL, OR DISTANCE EDUCATION, OR THOSE HAVING A MAJOR COMMITMENT TO THE FIELD

A professional membership is open to a person whose major commitment is in the area of adult continuing, professional, or distance education. This membership is not transferable. A professional member receives ACHE publications, has voting rights except on matters of Constitution and Bylaws, and may hold any office.

  • 2014 Membership Dues - $90

OPEN TO: FULL OR PART-TIME STUDENTS PURSUING A DEGREE IN A FIELD RELATED TO HIGHER EDUCATION

A student membership is open to any full or part-time student pursuing a graduate degree in a field related to higher education. A student membership is renewable annually for up to three years. This member has online access to ACHE publications and has voting rights except on matters of Constitution and Bylaws. A student member may not hold office.

OPEN TO: FORMER ACHE MEMBERS WHO ARE RETIRED FROM HIGHER EDUCATION

A retiree membership is open to any former ACHE member upon his or her retirement. This member has online access to ACHE publications and has voting rights except on matters of Constitution and Bylaws. A retiree member may not hold office.
